About This Spot
Stepping into Amara King feels like discovering a cherished neighborhood gem tucked quietly into Saint-Laurent’s diverse culinary landscape. The exterior may be modest, but inside there’s a comforting hum of warmth and genuine hospitality. The pace is relaxed yet purposeful—a place where locals and students alike gather to enjoy authentic Lebanese flavors without fuss or pretense.
The space itself is intimate, lending a sense of closeness that invites sharing and conversation over plates rich with vibrant, familiar spice. The aromas that greet you—garlic, zaatar, and freshly grilled marinated meats—pull you in, promising a meal that’s both freshly made and thoughtfully prepared.
Amara King’s offerings feel home-cooked but approachable, striking a balance between hearty and light. Whether you find yourself drawn to the tender shish taouk plates or the crisp falafel wrapped in soft pita, each bite carries a friendly, straightforward authenticity. The menu is practical yet varied, designed to satisfy a laid-back appetite while honoring Lebanese culinary roots.
The atmosphere is enlivened by the small, familial team behind the counter, whose kindness has become part of the restaurant’s quiet charm. During busy lunch hours, especially for nearby students, the buzz is lively but never rushed—the kind of organized warmth that comes from deep experience and genuine care.
Parking might feel a little tricky at first, but a hidden lot round back often makes the visit easier, reflecting the behind-the-scenes generosity found throughout the experience. If you’re navigating Saint-Laurent’s busy streets, this practical detail makes the arrival feel less like a hurdle and more like a welcome.
Whether you’re seeking a satisfying meal after a long day or a simple spot to reconnect with familiar tastes, Amara King holds a quiet promise: dishes filled with heart, a slow and steady pace, and a small but steady community of food lovers who come back time and again for that unmistakable homemade goodness.

It’s a small restaurant, when you look at it from the outside, maybe you underestimate the quality of the food it is kinda local small business! However, guys I am telling you/ it is Authentic & legit! I loved it. It was super delicious! As I am not from Mtl, I had hard time to find street parking, then I figured they have a small parking lot in the back.

Food is so so good. The poutine is a personal favorite and on top of that the owners are the nicest bunch of people you’ll get to meet. Price is also good, a good portion of food + drink will cost you around 12$-15$

Regular Student here : thank you for always making us yummy bussing food! It’s the only halal place near both colleges, so it’s pretty full during luchtime :D It is a small family restaurant with very reasonable prices and and their service is always top notch. Although their potatoes sometimes is extra oily and their beverages options are limited, they give extra food before closing time and always cheer up customers with study motivation!! They even have lahmajouns, baklava, hamburgers, hotdogs, salads and so much more! Thank you for keeping students tummy’s full! In the picture : all dressed Manaech with chicken

This is the place to go for a shish taouk. They are very generous with the portions, and so kind.

I LOVE this place. The service is amazing, the food rules, and they're so nice. I was happy after one visit, a loyal customer after two, and a fangirl forever after three. Will be back weekly
